It’s been a long time since posting. My husband and I have had some seriously big decisions to make and after nearly 4 months, we found resolution. Whew.
We each had great career opportunities — one at a prestigious magazine; the other a prestigious position at a university — we could not make either work for both of us. Each were in different cities, in different states and with a dual-career household, the financial stakes and long-term career goals were too high for either one of us to take either position. Our conversations were intense and thoughtful and the stress in our house was palpable. Lucky for us, we have great friends and family to support us and help us with our decisions.
Choices are a luxury and we decided to stay in Portland.
