I decided to take a bit of a breather from working on an annual report and thought I would tweak a few things at Cocoink while I had the chance.
Because I’m still learning Wordpress and coding I decided to head back to Upstart Blogger to find out if the designer of Modicus (Robert Ellis) might have some tips on his site to help me along.
Well, I stumbled upon one of his entries, Tools for Capturing Design Inspiration. It’s a great list of tools for a designer or anyone who is feeling creative and needs help organizing their inspiration stuff (me). As soon as I finish writing this, I’m headed back there to click on the links and start figuring out which ones I need.
I will say that if you can afford a Canon Rebel XTi and don’t mind the more bulky aspects of and SLR compared to a sleek point and shoot, I highly recommend the Canon. It doesn’t do HD video but it makes some sweet images. Also worth the money is a Canon lens; not the lenses that come with some of the Digtal Rebel packages. In the end, it all depends on your goals; what you want to eventually do with your images.
I also want to take this opportunity (since organization is the topic) to recommend a book called, Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen. A good friend recommended it to my husband and since reading it, our friend has been using a Moleskine (listed on Tools for Capturing Design Inspiration) to jot down his ideas, thoughts, things-to-do. I’m hoping to finish it before passing it along to another friend.
Happy organizing!
