Well, I have to share this news because we’re not in Perpignan to celebrate with them and a little shameless promotion for friends is allowed yes? I’m all for tooting the horns for friends.

So the first bit of news, courtesy of PDNPulse is that a new agency launches this week. The agency is called Noor and according to their home page, the site goes live tomorrow. (I love how the images rotate each time it re-loads.) This is exciting because Samantha Appleton is a good friend of my husband and another photographer, Kadir van Lohuizen whom I met via email while working on a book project earlier this year is also on the list of founding members.

I’m looking forward to seeing their archives. It’s quite a list of story tellers and image makers. We wish them all the best and congratulations. Salut!

The other news is that Jon Lowenstein won a Getty Grant! Read the story here. We know Jon from our Sun Publication days in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. Jon has endless amounts of energy and continues to make surprising images. Woohoo!
