I finally met Lynn Russell of Satsuma Press in the flesh yesterday at The Doug Fir.

We had a meeting scheduled last week and I had a serious case of food poisoning so it wasn’t possible and instead I decided to check out Crafty Wonderland to meet her. I also had a hankering for the burgers and fries at The Doug Fir. Mmm…

Lynn and I have been emailing for a few weeks getting to know each other. I had emailed her to let her know how much I liked her work and if at some point we could collaborate since we live in the same town and it turns out, the same part of town (amazing). I hope one day soon we’ll make that happen.

Here are the goodies I purchased:

birds notecards

This birds and I think Birch (?) tree note cards are the result of the collaboration between Lynn at Satsuma Press and Lara at Kirin & Co. I’ve turned into a bigger bird fan since moving to the PNW so this design particularly appealed to me. It was a tough choice. Below is a detail.

It’s quite wonderful to hold. The textural details in the design and the texture of Crane’s Lettra paper works beautifully. And, the craftsmanship of the printing is crisp and the impression is not too trendy. I also love the golden color. This image doesn’t do it justice.

I also picked up another set of cards; one of Lynn’s designs:

flower note cards

Choosing just one was difficult. She has a hydrangea design that is lovely, too.

If you like what you see here, head over to her Etsy Shop.
